Autumnfield of Belhaven logoResponsible for the overall administration and operations of the facility; recruiting, hiring, training and supervision of staff and ongoing evaluation of their performance; marketing and admission of residents; establishing a professional relationship with regulatory agencies, family members and vendors; ensuring quality assurance and maintaining compliance with relevant laws and licensing rules.


  1. Carry out and promote the policies and procedures, mission and vision of Autumnfield of Belhaven.
  2. Carry out responsibilities in an accurate and timely manner to include financial management, environmental services of the community, resident care and services, as well as staffing requirements.
  3. Develop and carry out a Quality Assurance program to meet the community's overall goals and objectives utilizing established policies and procedures that address all regulatory, service, and operation areas.
  4. Maintain the facility’s budgeting system and assess the needs of the facility based upon departmental plans and budget assessments to determine the financial needs of each area of operation for future expenditure planning.
  5. Ensure the facility is appropriately and adequately supervised per the facility’s policies and state rules, to include developing a rotating On-Call schedule (May include some nights, weekends, and holidays).
  6. Promote and train on positive image building consistent with the community's commitment to quality services.
  7. Perform pre-screen reviews with prospective residents, his/her family members, responsible person, or appropriate persons to determine if appropriateness of placement.
  8. Recruit, interview, select, train, evaluate, and delegate responsibilities to all staff in order to ensure quality staff are hired to provide staffing needs on a continual basis.
  9. Assure staff successfully complete all training in order to apply the community's written accident, fire safety, and emergency procedures.
  10. Perform staff evaluations in accordance with the facility’s policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  11. Routinely review staff needs to include qualifications, strengths, weaknesses, and training completed or needed.
  12. Assure compliance with all OSHA standards, sanitation, safety, and building codes.
  13. Follow up with staff and resident complaints and grievances.
  14. Help maintain residents rights to include, self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident.
  15. Be familiar with and ensure staff are able to apply all the home's accident, fire safety, OSHA, and emergency procedures.
  16. Be familiar with the Adult Care Home Residents' Bill of Rights and assist residents with exercising these rights.
  17. Maintain job-related continuing education as required for an Adult Care Home Administrator.
  18. Stay abreast of all regulatory updates and requirements and ensure the facility is operating at all times based on regulatory standards as well as the facility’s policies and procedures.
  19. Be familiar with and apply NC Medicaid standards for Adult Care Homes, including Personal Care Services and Supplemental Assistance requirements to ensure the facility is receiving payments and maintaining the requirements for these services.
  20. Maintain ethical standards of practice at all times.


  1. Must be a Certified Assisted Living Administrator, preferably with experience working in an Adult Care Home.
  2. Must possess a High School Diploma or GED or higher degree of learning.
  3. Must be able to read, write, understand, and follow directions.
  4. Must have no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program.
  5. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Must possess good computer skills.
  7. Must have a clear SBI background check.
  8. Must be able to relate professionally and positively to residents and families and to work in a professional manner with employees, vendors, referral agencies, regulatory agencies, and the community at large.

Director of Clinical Services, Apex, NC - April 13, 2021

  • Graduate of approved college/school of nursing.
  • Have a current state license as a Registered Nurse.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a management position in Long Term Care, Assisted Living, or Skilled Nursing with an underlying knowledge in the overall disease processes of the elderly, as well as a familiarity in dealing with residents that have a diagnosis of Dementia.

  • Experienced in organizational, time management skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory and management experience.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) with the ability to learn new applications.

Regional Director of Clinical Services, NC - March 29, 2021

Navion logoA leading provider of Senior Living in the Southeast, Navion Senior Solutions is looking for a Regional Director of Clinical Services to plan, organize, and oversee the operations of clinical services in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines to foster the highest degree of quality care across Navion communities. This position assumes a primary role in ensuring that communities are compliant with state and federal regulations while implementing supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

The Regional Director of Clinical Services will mentor, supervise, and guide community Executive Directors, Directors of Clinical Services, wellness staff, and others assigned to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality care to residents.


  • RN or LPN, with a current license in the State of North or South Carolina, and in good standing.
  • Five years previous management experience.
  • Prior experience as a Director of Nursing. Preferred regional experience as well.
  • Knowledgeable of standards of care and practices applicable to the delivery of geriatric services.
  • Five to seven years’ experience in long-term care.

Essential Duties

Implement policies and procedures for Clinical Services in assigned communities. Monitor achievement of goals and objectives for the community clinical services departments consistent with established philosophy and standards of practice.

  • Monitors the implementation of current policies and procedures, which reflect adherence to corporate and external regulatory guidelines. Reviews new regulatory directives and implements changes as needed.
  • Monitors Quality Improvement Process, Standards of Care, Clinical Indicator Reports, etc. and reports them to the Regional Director of Operations.
  • Reviews and investigates resident complaints/Hotline Complaints as directed by the Regional Director of Operations. Ensures compliance with resident rights policies and works to resolve resident grievances.
  • Conducts compliance and quality surveys at communities. Assist in coordinating action plans to minimize liability and risk as a result of compliance surveys.
  • Participates in state and federal surveys and compliance investigations.
  • Supports and follows up with communities in identifying trends and assists in the development of corrective action plans and troubleshooting resolutions. Reports findings of State and Federal surveys to the Director of Operations.
  • Gathers performance improvement indicators and survey data to identify trends. Develops Plans of Corrective Actions with the Director of Operations, Executive Directors, and the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Schedules periodic site visits to provide clinical expertise and monitor operations within the clinical services department. Conducts facility reviews to assess operational needs, changes in management, and commitment to regulatory compliance.
  • Reviews all potential move-outs due to level of care concerns prior to any notifications provided. Reviews all potential move-in denials prior to any communication with prospective resident or family members.
  • Provide in-service training and orientation to community staff regarding survey process, risk management, corporate compliance, performance improvement, etc.
  • Attendance required at all meetings at the discretion of Manager or Regional Supervisor.
  • Must be computer literate, excellent working knowledge of all pertinent software.
  • Responsible for timely information reporting.
  • Must stay in compliance with all state, federal, and government agencies.
  • Demonstrate respect and compassion during every interaction.
  • Conduct oneself with the highest degree of honesty and integrity in every interaction.
  • Demonstrate a passion for care as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and visitors.
  • May be requested to serve as temporary Interim Director of Health and Wellness.
